MEET ERIN
A Lifelong Niskayuna Neighbor, A Committed Community Leader
Erin Cassaday-Dorion is a lifelong Niskayuna resident with deep roots in the community. She grew up in a blended family of eight, attended Niskayuna schools, and now has three children in the district.
Public service runs in her family—her mother, Maria Freund, served as a Town Council member. Erin has been active in the community for decades, from organizing the Niska-Day parade with her sisters to serving as PTO Co-President and Afterschool Enrichment Coordinator at Birchwood Elementary. She believes that strong communities are built through collaboration, clear communication, and a government that listens.
Erin’s connection to Niskayuna isn’t just history—it’s personal. She and her husband, both former co-captains of their high school cheer and football teams, married on the Niskayuna football field in 2014. Now, as Town Supervisor, she’s focused on ensuring Niskayuna remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
Because for Erin, Niskayuna isn’t just home—it’s family.
